Bus Aide

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a high school diploma
• Previous job experience with children preferred
• Must have transportation to and from the bus stop
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the School Board

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Job Goals: To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program

Job Responsibilities: Such duties as may be assigned, including but not limited to, the following:

• Meets all professional conduct standards as set by MS Educator Code of Ethics Standards of Conduct
• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus
• Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus
• Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion
• Provides written records of violations of the student code to the transportation supervisor
• Collects and turns over to the Director of Transportation those personal items left on the bus by students
• Ensures the safety and good behavior on the bus of an individual student, if assigned to supervise
• Follow all board policies and procedures
• Maintain regular attendance and is punctual
• Promote the district's vision, mission, and goals
• Perform any other duties as outlined by the Director of Transportation

Job Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel
