Description

AmeriQual is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Evansville, IN! If you have a passion for problem-solving, process improvement, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in new equipment installation, working professionally with Retort operators and other cross-functional department team members
- Troubleshoot and repair Retort malfunctions
- Exhibit a sense of urgency around work order completion and documentation of work performed; must be comfortable quickly escalating and communicating equipment issues to others for additional support and resources
- Perform equipment calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Update the computerized maintenance system with accurate and timely information related to work performed
- Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMP.

Requirements

Qualifications

An advanced degree is not required, but strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting aptitude are necessary.
Successful candidates will have 1+ years' experience in the Retort department and/or understanding of retort technology
Must be willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with hot, humid conditions.
Reliable, professional, can-do mentality
Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and display strong time management skills, with the ability to work without extensive supervision
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team
Working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods.
Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
Frequent use of hands to operate tools and equipment; reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery.
Perform intricate repairs requiring manual dexterity, sometimes in confined spaces or on complex machinery and packaging systems.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequent work on the production floor, requiring tolerance of standard seasonal warehouse and food-processing temperatures.
Work in a facility where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
