Food Runner

Responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring order accuracy and excellent customer service. Works closely with servers and kitchen staff to maintain efficient dining operations, assist with table service, and provide a positive dining experience for members and guests. Maintains cleanliness, organization, and high hospitality standards in a fast-paced country club environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food from the kitchen to dining tables.
• Ensure dishes are presented correctly and match the order.
• Communicate with servers and kitchen staff.
• Describe dishes or answer basic questions when needed.
• Refill water, clear plates, and assist servers during busy periods.
• Help set up and break down dining areas for events, banquets, weddings, and golf outings.
• Safely transport food from the kitchen to guest tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
• Assist with food preparation and plating when necessary to support kitchen staff.
• Clear and clean tables efficiently by bussing dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area.
• Handle heavy lifting with proper techniques to move large trays, boxes of supplies, or equipment safely.
• Support the front-of-house team by serving beverages, condiments, or additional items as requested by guests.
• Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper handling procedures and sanitation practices.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff using POS systems to ensure smooth order flow and timely service.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments is highly preferred.
• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and proper manual handling techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
• Excellent communication skills with in-person customer service experience.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Jonas a plus.
• Experience in banquet service or culinary settings is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with an eye for cleanliness and efficiency in fast-paced settings.
