As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will maintain, diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as front-end loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, plant trucks, etc. Hourly Rate: $35+/hr based on experience.The successful candidate will have the following key accountabilities:Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty equipment & vehiclesDiagnosing faults using computerized testing equipmentAdjusting equipment and replacing faulty partsRepairing damaged equipment partsPerforming major repair work as neededTest and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustmentsReporting damaged or faulty equipment to managementComplete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, Etc.) accurately and timelyPerforms other duties as assignedThe successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment MechanicCertification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or AA in Applied Diesel Technology, preferred.Knowledge of database software, internet software, & manufacturer software.Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.Commitment to Our CultureOur core values - Safety, Team, Customers, Growth, and Courage—guide our work every day and will help us achieve our vision: Covia is the leading minerals solutions provider, and through the passion and commitment of our people, we enable customer success—ensuring a sustainable future for our company.
