Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $1780 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >80 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: AMN Program - ECU Health (Vidant Health) and no current placement allowed at Program: AMN Program - ECU Health (Vidant Health).

Additional Details:

Upon accepting an offer, you will be assigned Relias exams that must be taken immediately (within 48hrs). If you fail the exam twice, this may result in an immediate cancellation by the facility.

Required Skills/Experience: Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Unit Details: Knowledge of assisting providers with procedures at bedside. Patient population includes COPD exacerbation, acute renal failure, sepsis, UTI, pneumonia, syncope, anemia, hip fractures, bowel obstruction, cellulitis, dehydration, diabetes, hepatic encephalopathy, stroke, TIA, chronic CHF, PE, GI bleed, failure to thrive, non-healing wounds, renal insufficiency, acute kidney injury, comfort care, oncology, and post-op patients, including various abdominal surgeries and post-cardiac cath recovery. Procedures include peritoneal dialysis, chest tubes, CBI, bedside I&D, central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, wound vacs, Buck’s traction, breathing treatments, CPAP/BiPap, trach care, incision and debridement, post-op drains, tube feeding, tracheostomy, and catheterization (foley and suprapubic). Equipment includes Alaris IV pump, Omni Feeding pump, SCD machine, IsoAir mattress pump, Tpumps, AccuChek Vein Finder, glucose meter, Welch Allyn vital signs machine, computers on wheels, and Banyan phones. Uses ancillary staff. Patient care delivery includes charge nurse, primary nurse, and NA support.

Floating Requirements: Float to any nursing area, practice as needed and census allowed.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 10/31/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/24/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026. Number of holidays allowed off: 1

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
