Job Description

This role focuses on concrete formwork and commercial carpentry, with an emphasis on structural concrete for foundations, walls, columns, and decks. You will interpret blueprints, perform accurate layout, and execute both rough and finish carpentry to meet project specifications. The position requires hands-on work with a variety of tools and materials, strict adherence to safety standards, and active support of overall jobsite operations.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, align, brace, and remove concrete formwork, falsework, and shoring systems for foundations, walls, columns, and decks.
• Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, and shop drawings to ensure projects meet design and specification requirements.
• Perform precise construction layout and leveling for flooring, roofing, walls, and structural steel components.
• Install rough carpentry, including framing, formwork, and structural elements, in accordance with project plans.
• Install finish carpentry such as doorframes, doors, windows, staircases, partitions, paneling, cabinetry, trim, and other millwork components.
• Measure and calculate material requirements to ensure accurate cuts and efficient use of materials.
• Operate hand and power tools, including power tools, pavement breakers, jackhammers, and vibration tools, in a safe and effective manner.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Execute and support OSHA and company safety programs, including securing jobsites, communicating site hazards, and promoting safe work practices.
• Organize and manage material storage to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Load, unload, and distribute building materials to designated work areas as needed.
• Assist with general jobsite housekeeping to keep the work environment safe and efficient.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction carpentry experience, with a strong emphasis on structural concrete work.
• Demonstrated proficiency in concrete formwork, including building, assembling, aligning, bracing, and stripping forms, falsework, and shoring systems.
• Strong construction and carpentry skills across both rough and finish work.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, and shop drawings.
• Experience with framing and rough carpentry for walls, floors, roofs, and structural elements.
• Experience with finish carpentry, including installation of doors, doorframes, windows, trim, paneling, and cabinetry.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Proficiency with tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure accurate layout and cuts.
• Ability to perform material takeoffs and calculate material requirements.
• Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA safety standards and jobsite safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in drywall installation and related carpentry tasks.
• Experience in trim work and detailed finish carpentry.
• Familiarity with vibration tools, pavement breakers, and jackhammers in concrete applications.
• Ability to support general construction activities such as loading, unloading, and material handling.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a construction team.

Work Environment

This is a physically demanding, field-based role that involves prolonged and continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, stooping, and working at heights. You will frequently work outdoors and must be comfortable performing tasks in various weather conditions, including precipitation and wind. The jobsite environment includes active construction areas with heavy equipment, structural concrete work, and the use of hand and power tools, pavement breakers, jackhammers, and vibration tools. You will work within established safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, and you should be prepared for a hands-on, fast-paced construction setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $58240.00/yr.
