Occupational Health NurseKSB GIW, Inc.Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resource Business Partner Location: Grovetown, GA FLSA Status: Salary ExemptOVERVIEW:The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is responsible for promoting and maintaining the physical, mental, and social well-being of manufacturing and administrative employees across multiple company locations. This role focuses on preventing and treating work-related injuries and illnesses, supporting employee wellness initiatives and programs, managing occupational and personal medical leave programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.The OHN partners closely with Human Resources, Safety, operational leadership, and external medical providers to support employee health initiatives, reduce workplace risk, and ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations. This position supports facilities located in Georgia, Florida, and Canada.RESPONSIBILITIESInjury & Illness ManagementProvides first aid and emergency care to employees injured or ill at workManages all aspects of worker's compensation cases for all worksites and coordinates with insurance providers as necessaryAssists with the return-to-work process, including assessing fitness for duty and collaborating with management to ensure accommodations for injured workersManages personal medical illnesses/injuries and coordinates all aspects of FMLA, short term disability, long term disability, and ADA casesAnalyzes occupational injury and illness trends and partners with leadership to support proactive risk reduction initiativesHealth Surveillance & MonitoringCoordinates OSHA-required medical surveillance programs including audiometric testing, respiratory fit testing, pulmonary function testing, vision screening, and immunization programsMaintains accurate and confidential employee medical records in accordance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulationsMaintains medical clinic supply inventory, replenishes when necessaryPerforms monthly AED inspectionsMaintains OSHA 300 and 300A logs in conjunction with the Safety teamEnforces GIW's Drug & Alcohol Policy and administers drug screens, makes referrals to EAP, and ensures employees are working safely according to the policies and proceduresEmployee Health Education & CounselingProvides individualized employee health education, coaching, and supportDelivers company-wide occupational health and wellness training programsCoordinates and manages CPR, Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP), and First Aid certification programsDevelops and supports employee wellness engagement initiatives focused on overall well-beingCoordinates wellness-related events including health fairs, blood drives, flu vaccine clinics, and preventive health screeningsServes as a resource regarding company health benefits and wellness resourcesCollaboration & AdvisoryPartners closely with HR, Safety, and operational leadership to support a safe and healthy workplace cultureServes as a health resource and advisor to employees and leadership, provides support and referrals when necessaryParticipates in safety committee meetings and supports continuous improvement initiatives related to employee health and safetyEnsures compliance with GIW's company policies and local, state, and federal occupational health and safety laws and regulationsRisk Management & Emergency PreparednessAssists in the development of emergency response plans, including handling workplace accidents, natural disasters, and public health emergenciesParticipates in drills and training programs for emergency responseSupports workplace incident investigations involving employee injuries or medical eventsWorkplace Health InitiativesDevelops, implements, and evaluates health promotion programs designed to enhance employee well-being and productivityManages GIW's wellness program and coordinates annual health screenings, communicates deadlines, and tracks employee engagementCoordinates periodic events such as blood drives, health fairs, on-site mammogram bus, flu vaccine clinics, etc.Supports mental health initiatives by providing Employee Assistance Program resources, counseling, and referrals when necessaryQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field preferredActive Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licenseMinimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience required, preferably in occupational health, manufacturing, industrial, or emergency care settingsCPR certification requiredStrong knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and other occupational health regulationsExperience in case management and worker's compensation claims managementExcellent clinical, emergency, and assessment skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situationsWORK ENVIRONMENT, SCHEDULE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position operates within both manufacturing and office environments and may require periodic exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and other manufacturing related conditions.This position is primarily present during first shift operations but does support 24-7 operations and some flexibility outside of normal business hours may occasionally be required to support emergency response situations or training initiatives.Physical requirements may include:Standing and walking for extended periodsOccasional lifting up to 25 poundsResponding quickly to workplace emergenciesUse of standard office and medical equipmentWearing required personal protective equipmentKSB GIW, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
