Overview The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full -time, on-site Patient Financial Counselor to join our team in our Wichita , KS offices. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00PM with no major holidays, no on-call and no weekends. Under general supervision,is responsible forassessment of patient financial requirements, counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-payments as well asassistingpatients with applications for drug reimbursement, copay, and foundationassistance. Orders and tack drug received for patients approved forassistance, file claims to foundations and copay programs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Assistall patients that do not have insurance or patients with a limited coverage policy in obtaining financialassistance(i.e.Project Access, drugreplacementor co-payassistance), outsideassistance(i.e.transportation or other community services), and allappropriate forms. Coordinate with the patient and provider to obtain all information and signatures for drug reimbursement requirements permanufacture/program. Upload or fax all applications and the pertinent financial forms (along with the physician’s signature and the prescription)requiredforassistanceto the manufacture/program. Collaborate with the treatment authorization team toidentifypatients in need ofassistanceandnotify themonce approvals are in place. Utilizes the Summary of Patient Reimbursement and Liability form and obtains appropriate approvals asrequired. Performs financial counseling process on all patients prior to treatment, which includes patient financial obligations, billingpracticesand establishing payment arrangements. Documentsfinancial counseling process. Order and track all approved drugs for patients according to their schedule. Assistsinmaintainingmanuals,logsand other required documentation asrequired. Communicate with pharmaceuticalcompaniesField Reimbursement Managers to stay up to date on program changes. Demonstrates an understanding for patient confidentiality to protect the patient and the clinic/corporation. Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Covers for andassistswith other front office functions asrequested. Attends required, applicable meetings. Remains current on all compliance requirements. Ensures all applicable policies and procedures of the company and Network are followed. Other duties as requested or assignedincludingcoverage within the department. Performs other tasks as reasonably requested by a provider or member of the Management Team, as applicable to the role. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school degree or equivalentrequired Minimum three (3)yearsmedical insurance verification and authorizationrequired.
