The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies, Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.Major Job Responsibilities: The Machinist will:Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.Support the company's quality and safety initiativesAbide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.Fabricate, maintain, and repair metal objects through the operation of lathes, shapers, planers, milling machines, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and similar equipmentMeasure work carefully by using precision toolsPerform milling and lathe work on such equipment as pumps, valves, pistons, and other plant equipmentWork with maintenance team to analyze and minimize mechanical downtime and contribute to continuous process improvementPerform routine preventative maintenance on machineryBe available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends to assist production in the event of a serious mechanical breakdownKeep work stations and tools clean, neat, and organizedAdditional Job-Related Responsibilities:Flexibility in shift schedulingMaintenance DayOvertime as required by Supervisor / ProjectProfessional BehaviorProjects as assignedEnvironmental ConsiderationMaintain Safe Work PracticesMentor / Train Co-WorkersJob Specific Requirements: Physicality:Occasionally lift, push, pull items 50 – 100 lbsRoutinely lift, push, pull up to 50 lbsStand/Walk 8-12 hours per shiftExpected Work Schedule / Shift: Day Shift, on call support as neededEducation / Skills:High School Diploma or Equivalent GEDFive years of experience as a machinist, or machinist certification with three years of experienceSome knowledge of automated control systemsExperience on a continuous process manufacturing line preferredProficiency in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishManufacturing ExperienceForklift or other equipment experienceCommunication SkillsComputer Skills if applicableAbility to work with others and in team environment, or as an individualGeneral:Follow all Company Policies / ProceduresProfessionalism and Respect towards all members of Spuntech TeamProvide mentorship as neededDiligence in Quality and Safety in all areas of your work performance and practicesHierarchal Reporting:Reports to Facilities ManagerFunctional Reporting to Maintenance Specialist
