Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

We are seeking a Water & Wastewater Project Engineer to support the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure projects across water supply, wastewater collection, treatment and associated civil works. This role will suit an engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical project coordination skills and who is motivated by delivering safe, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.


Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and schedules; developing designs for water and wastewater networks, pumping stations, treatment facilities and related infrastructure; coordinating investigations, surveys and design inputs; and supporting projects from concept and feasibility through detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning. You will liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders, contribute to project programmes and budgets, identify and manage technical risks, and provide engineering support during construction. The role may also involve site inspections, responding to technical queries, reviewing contractor submissions and ensuring work is delivered in accordance with relevant standards, health and safety requirements and environmental legislation.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water or wastewater engineering, with relevant experience in the design or delivery of water infrastructure projects. Knowledge of hydraulic modelling, pipeline design, pumping systems, treatment processes and applicable industry standards is desirable. Experience with design and project management software, technical documentation and multidisciplinary coordination will be advantageous. You will be expected to demonstrate sound engineering judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative and proactive approach. Professional registration, or progress towards professional accreditation, would be welcomed.
