A new school, and a chance to help shape it

Every school starts with a few people who care a great deal. At Sunny Cove Preschool, we are looking for those people now.

Sunny Cove is a new, family owned early learning center opening in Oceanside. We are Cameron and Natalie Braselton, and we also own Ready Set Grow Learning Center in El Cajon, where Natalie serves as Director. Over the years we have learned what makes a school feel right to a family: teachers who are known by name, classrooms that are calm and joyful, and leaders who show up. Sunny Cove is our chance to bring that to North County.

The name says what we are building. A cove is a sheltered place, safe from the rough water, where little ones can explore at their own pace. Add sunshine and you have our whole philosophy: warm, safe, and bright.

We are hiring our founding Infant & Toddler Teachers. You will not be inheriting someone else's classroom. You will help set up the room, shape the daily rhythm, and build the culture that every future teacher and family walks into.

What your days look like

• Give responsive, loving care to infants and toddlers: feeding, diapering, napping, comfort, and lots of connection.
• Fill the day with language. Sing, read, talk, and narrate the ordinary moments, because that is where the learning happens.
• Plan simple, play-based activities that build motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills.
• Notice the milestones and share them with families through daily updates and real conversations.
• Keep the classroom clean, safe, and organized, following all health, safety, and licensing standards.
• Guide little ones with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
• Build trusting partnerships with parents. For many families this is their first time leaving their baby with someone else. You are the reason they feel good about it.

• You take pride in the details: a clean room, a complete daily log, a smooth handoff at pickup.

What you bring

• ECE or Child Development units, including infant and toddler coursework, or a plan to complete them. (We will talk through your units with you.)
• Experience caring for infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare center.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid, or willingness to certify before your start date.
• Mandated Reporter training, TB clearance, and the ability to pass a Live Scan background check.

Nice to have: a Child Development Permit, Spanish or another second language, or experience opening a new classroom.

Pay, schedule, and start date

• Pay: $21 to $23 per hour, based on units, permit level, and experience.
• Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM.
• Start date: We are interviewing now and looking to hire ASAP.
