Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).EducationHigh School Graduate or EquivalentExperience / QualificationsAt least 1 year of experienceBasic Rhythm Strip interpretation exam with a pass score of 80% or higher.BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.Position SummaryThe Monitor Technician is a member of the nursing team who interprets cardiac monitor data, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse.Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, observation, and documentation of cardiac rhythm on a routine basis. The Monitor Tech communicates changes in the cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse.Performs other duties as assigned.Team Member CompetenciesEstablishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.Threshold RequirementsThese threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis.Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.TB/PPD Surveillance ProgramMaintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
