Our culture is a culture of “giving” and supporting our local communities so that all can be lifted together. “Jersey Mike’s “A Sub Above” We are looking for a motivated, hands-on General Manager who takes ownership of their restaurant, develops a strong team, delivers outstanding customer service, and drives results. Our General Managers lead from the front and set the standard for their team every day. Key Responsibilities & Expectations Lead daily restaurant operations while maintaining Jersey Mike’s standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and food safety Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, and retain a strong team Coach and develop Assistant Managers and future leaders Build effective weekly schedules based on projected sales, business volume, availability, and labor goals Actively manage labor throughout each shift and make appropriate staffing decisions based on business needs Monitor and achieve store KPI and profitability goals , including sales, labor, food cost, paper cost, waste, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability Complete weekly and monthly inventory accurately and identify opportunities to control food cost and waste Maintain proper cash management and financial controls Ensure ordering, receiving, inventory rotation, FIFO, and product availability are consistently maintained Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards at all times Ensure the restaurant is consistently clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready Deliver outstanding customer service and professionally resolve guest concerns Maintain Jersey Mike’s product standards, including proper portioning, sub weights, preparation, presentation, and quality Lead shifts with urgency, organization, communication, and proper position deployment Delegate effectively and hold team members accountable to expectations Complete required administrative responsibilities accurately and on time Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, attendance expectations, and operational standards Communicate regularly with District/Area Management regarding staffing, operations, maintenance, performance, and store needs Create a positive, respectful, professional workplace where employees are supported while also being held accountable Be willing to work alongside the team in every position and lead by example Take ownership of the restaurant — identifying problems, creating solutions, and following through without needing constant direction Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 2 years of QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) experience preferred Must be 18 years of age or older ServSafe Manager Certification required Must have reliable transportation Must have open availability with no exceptions , including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business Must be able and willing to work a 45-hour work week , with the majority of scheduled hours worked during the bulk of the business and peak operating periods Previous leadership or restaurant management experience preferred Ability to lead, coach, delegate, and hold a team accountable Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active restaurant environment Key Competencies Excellent knowledge of the Jersey Mike’s menu, products, recipes, and operational standards An awesome, positive personality with the ability to create a welcoming environment for both guests and team members Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure and a sense of urgency Strong desire to continuously improve, learn, and develop personal and professional skill sets Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests, team members, and management Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive guest experience Willingness to actively participate in and successfully complete all required Jersey Mike’s training programs Ability to lead by example and consistently demonstrate company standards and expectations Ability to meet all scheduling requirements and maintain dependable and reliable attendance Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to adjust quickly to changing business needs Ability to motivate, coach, develop, and hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive work environment What We’re Looking For The ideal General Manager is dependable, organized, energetic, accountable, and comfortable making decisions. This position requires someone who can balance taking care of their people with taking care of the business. Restaurant management experience is preferred, but above all, we are looking for a strong leader with a great attitude, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, and the ability to develop a successful team. This is not a desk-management position. Our General Managers are hands-on leaders who work alongside their teams, know their business, understand their numbers, and take pride in the success of their store.
