Position Overview

Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting. This role includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and managing transitions of care. The ideal candidate will deliver holistic and individualized care, developing and implementing plans that consider psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. The position fosters collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and ensures adherence to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable laws to enhance patient experience.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Experience

• Minimum one year of current experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry Required
• Recent clinical experience and proficiency in telemetry and rhythm interpretation Required

Clinical Responsibilities

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

• Read and interpret telemetry rhythms efficiently.
• Recognize common arrhythmias, such as A-fib, A-flutter, SVT, VT, PVCs, and PACs.
• Initiate, titrate, monitor, and document various medication drips, including:



• Amiodarone: Understanding indications, loading dose vs. maintenance infusion, and monitoring for side effects.
• Cardizem (Diltiazem): Use in rate control and parameters for titration.
• Dobutamine: Use in cardiogenic shock with rigorous monitoring of patient response.
• Lasix: Safe administration with monitoring for diuresis and electrolyte levels.
• Insulin and Heparin drips: Protocol-driven titration and safety monitoring.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - State Licensure Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Required

• Strong knowledge and competence in nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Familiarity with the healthcare industry, safety practices, and regulatory standards.

• Basic proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• The ability to be an effective team player while handling multiple interventions in a dynamic environment.
• Critical thinking skills to address and resolve routine or complex problems.
