Forklift OperatorThe Forklift Operator picks parts, hardware, and subassemblies from the warehouse to supply the production line. This role spends approximately 70% of the time operating a sit-down forklift in a high-traffic environment and the remaining time loading, counting, and handling materials by hand. The Forklift Operator works from printed pick sheets with bin locations and delivery points on the production line, performs inventory counts, and assists with unloading trucks to restock shelves.ResponsibilitiesPick parts, hardware, and subassemblies from warehouse locations to feed the production line according to printed pick sheets.Operate a sit-down forklift approximately 70% of the time in a high-traffic warehouse environment to move materials safely and efficiently.Load, count, and handle parts and materials by hand when required, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.Use printed pick sheets to identify bin locations and designated delivery points on the production line.Perform regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels and support production needs.Assist with unloading trucks carrying incoming products and materials and restock shelves and storage areas.Handle pallets using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.Support packing and material staging activities to ensure the production line is consistently supplied.Follow established safety procedures at all times, including the use of required personal protective equipment.Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area within the warehouse and production plant.Essential SkillsMinimum of 6 months of forklift or equipment operation experience.Strong sit-down forklift skills suitable for a high-traffic warehouse environment.Experience with material handling, parts pulling, and inventory activities.Ability to read and write clearly to follow pick sheets and documentation.Ability to understand and accurately interpret part numbers, bin locations, and delivery points.Comfort working with pallet jacks and related warehouse equipment.Attention to detail and accuracy in counting, picking, and restocking materials.Commitment to following safety guidelines and using steel-toed boots and safety glasses.Additional Skills & QualificationsRF scanner experience is a plus but not required.Willingness to be trained and certified on equipment within the first week.Ability to work collaboratively with the warehouse group and production teams.Reliability in supporting additional workdays, such as Fridays and inventory periods during line shutdowns.Why Work Here?Join a team that is actively revamping and elevating a well-established brand, offering the chance to contribute from the ground floor of a major improvement effort. The standard hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with frequent work on Fridays to prepare for the following week. The warehouse team also works during production line shutdowns, such as holiday shutdowns, to complete inventory activities. The environment involves regular use of sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a high-traffic setting. Steel-toed boots and safety glasses are required as part of the dress code to maintain a safe working environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thief River Falls, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
