Department: Pediatric Emergency Room

Job Status: Hourly

Shift: Night

Compensation Range: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour

Job Overview

Our organization is in search of a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Emergency Room team at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • 4 to 5 years of experience as a Pediatric Emergency Department RN or in Pediatric Critical Care
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Strong computer proficiency

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
  • Experience in Pediatric Nursing is highly desirable
  • National certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
Certifications and Licenses
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Essential Functions
  • The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and available resources.
  • Responsible for reporting any identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the patient demographic served.
  • Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable outcomes for improvement.
  • Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team leader, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailor the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
