Concrete Crew Lead Man

Location: Alta Vista, KS -- Field-based work on construction projects throughout the surrounding Kansas communities.

Our crews construct custom homes, barndominiums, agricultural buildings, commercial spaces, shops, steel-frame buildings, and historic renovations. K Construction is looking for an experienced Concrete Crew Lead Man to provide hands-on leadership and support on concrete projects.

Working alongside the Concrete Foreman, you will help coordinate daily crew activities, guide less experienced team members, and ensure concrete work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to K Construction 's standards. This is not a desk-based supervisory position. The right candidate will lead by example and remain actively involved in site preparation, forming, placement, finishing, and cleanup.

This role is a strong opportunity for an experienced concrete professional who is ready to take on more leadership responsibility without moving away from hands-on work.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Concrete Foreman in coordinating daily crew activities
• Help assign tasks and keep the crew productive throughout the workday
• Read plans, measurements, elevations, and project specifications
• Assist with site preparation, grading, forming, and reinforcement installation
• Place, screed, level, finish, and cure concrete
• Complete flatwork, slabs, foundations, footings, and other concrete installations
• Check forms, elevations, dimensions, and layouts before concrete placement
• Guide and train less experienced concrete crew members
• Monitor workmanship and correct quality concerns as they arise
• Operate concrete tools, power equipment, and machinery safely
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
• Communicate material, equipment, or project needs to the Concrete Foreman
• Help keep projects moving according to the daily schedule

Qualifications

• Previous professional concrete construction experience
• Experience with forming, pouring, screeding, and finishing concrete
• Understanding of concrete layouts, elevations, reinforcement, and curing practices
• Ability to read plans, measurements, and project specifications
• Previous leadership, crew lead, or mentoring experience preferred
• Ability to give clear directions and work effectively with a crew
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding work
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

Pay and Benefits

• Full-time. W-2 employee
• $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience
