An urgent opening is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in veterinary compounding at a busy animal-health pharmacy focused on customized medications for pets and animals. This contract role is based in Swedesboro, NJ, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate candidates’ availability. Applicants willing to travel to the area will also be considered.

This pharmacy operates with high volume and requires a pharmacist to support daily operations, verify veterinary prescriptions, and ensure the accurate preparation and dispensing of compounded medications. Collaboration with pharmacy technicians and the compounding team is essential to maintain smooth workflow and adherence to all regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify veterinary prescriptions for accuracy and therapeutic appropriateness
• Perform final pharmacist verification on all compounded and dispensed medications
• Oversee non-sterile compounding operations ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
• Confirm correct calculations, ingredients, strengths, dosage forms, and formulations
• Communicate proactively with veterinary clinics regarding prescription clarifications
• Maintain detailed and accurate pharmacy documentation and records
• Follow state and federal pharmacy regulations as well as internal quality assurance protocols
• Support an efficient workflow in a fast-paced pharmacy environment

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist License (required)
• Active California Pharmacist License (required)
• Experience in compounding, specialty pharmacy, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy environments is highly preferred
• Non-sterile compounding experience a strong plus
• Veterinary pharmacy experience is advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage work in a production-focused setting
• Effective team collaboration with pharmacy technicians and staff
