Physician (Internal Medicine)

Primary Care Physician

The Primary Care Physician will provide medical care at the Main Campus and/or at the West Norriton and Delaware County CBOCs. This Physician will be assigned to a PACT team. Physician may be asked to cover inpatient RRTP, Urgent care or HBPC as needed.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Diagnose, treat, and manage a panel of patients.
• Provide medical care in an outpatient setting following PACT Principles.
• Provide comprehensive patient-centered primary medical care.
• Identify acute, subacute, and chronic health problems.
• Use principles of risk management to identify system issues which impact patient care.
• Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Adhere to up-to-date clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic diseases.
• Assures clinical care provided meets all timelines and required documentation as required by VA
• Reviews alerts daily and have no more than 100 alerts at any given time.
• Completes encounter notes within 48 hours.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. May include extended hours or an occasional evening and/or Saturday based on patient needs. Due to the nature of work, the incumbent may occasionally be required to stay later than 4:30 pm, as required.

Travel Required: May require occasional travel between the Coatesville VAMC and our Community Based Outpatient Clinics during staffing shortages.
