Job Details Job Location: FV - Fairview - Yakima, WA 98902 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $17.30 - $17.82 Hourly Responsibilities Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion, and ensure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC Policies. Assure that age-appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus, in accordance with agency standards. Remain with the children in case of an emergency while the bus driver seeks help. Relay communications between home and school to appropriate parents and staff. Communicate regularly with parents, encouraging them to attend school events and to become involved in the center. Attend all training sessions and meetings as required. Transportation Assistants working two (2) bus runs daily will participate in the classroom. May work up to 40 hours per week, including time on the bus. Complete required paperwork as assigned, including attendance roster and absentee slips. May need to assist in other areas when needed. Maintain a safe, healthy and sanitary environment ensuring that children are supervised at all times; respond quickly to crisis or emergency situations that may occur; provide first aid, CPR, and access emergency services as needed. While in the classroom, assist in implementing classroom activities and preparing materials and supplies. Implement, support, and promote policies and procedures for Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Guidance and Active Supervision. Actively participate in center family nights, parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development opportunities and all relevant center activities. Conditions of Employment Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee. Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee). Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) in Merit. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella. Current Food Handler's card Current First Aid/CPR card Prior to first day, complete Health & Safety training certificates through DCYF student training portal. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire. Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training. CEO Approval.
