If you demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and innovation, we invite you to join our team.Position SummaryThe Licensing Specialist will play a crucial role in managing multistate financial services licensing projects and facilitating the licensing process for clients. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional client service and is relied upon for thorough, accurate, and timely information regarding consumer financial regulatory services to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesConducts thorough research on financial services licensing requirements and regulations relevant to clients’ industries, experience conducting research on lending and money transmission licensing requirements and regulations is preferred.Collaborates with attorneys and clients to develop effective licensing and regulatory strategiesProvides strategic advice on optimizing licensing opportunities and mitigating potential risksPrepares, reviews, and submits licensing applications, ensuring accuracy and completenessCoordinates with relevant authorities to streamline the application process and addresses any inquiriesServes as the primary point of contact for clients regarding licensing mattersInforms clients of their licensing application status and provides timely updatesDevelops and implements processes to track and manage renewals, amendments, and terminationsMaintains and files accurate and organized records, submissions, and correspondences for all licensing-related documentsPrepares regulatory reports for clients and internal teams as neededMaintains relationships with attorneys, as well as state and federal regulators, and responds to regulatory requests in a timely mannerAssists with other department activities as needed and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsSkills & CompetenciesProvides outstanding client service, meets high quality standards for services, and meets or exceeds client expectationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with strong negotiation abilities, including solid composition, research, and editing skillsHigh attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage time effectivelyAbility to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment to achieve business goals and objectivesAnalytical with strong problem-solving skills; takes initiative, uses good judgment, and demonstrates excellent follow-upAbility to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional, collaborative teamEducation & Prior ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Law, Business, or related field preferredProven experience as a Licensing Specialist or similar role in a law firm or legal departmentIn-depth knowledge of intellectual property laws and licensing regulationsAdvanced degree or certification in Intellectual Property Law is a plusTechnologyComputer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookExceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quicklyExperience using firm-approved AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to support professional and managerial work, applying judgment to validate outputs and maintain accountability for final deliverablesModels and promotes responsible AI use, including the adoption of emerging AI technologies, emphasizing privacy, confidentiality, and appropriate human oversightGT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.
