Mental Health Technician

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized nonprofit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking multiple Mental Health Technicians to join our team in Chillicothe, Ohio where you will work in our new Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Units monitoring client safety and coordinating treatment with the team. Staff in this role will work three 12-hour shifts a week and are hiring for all shifts.

Job Duties:

• Meal preparation
• Monitoring resident safety
• Maintaining unit compliance standards
• Providing support and activities for residents on the unit
• Consulting with clinical treatment team of case managers, nurses, counselors, and psychiatrists
• Participation in team-based responses to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies, including implementation of seclusion and restraint interventions when clinically indicated and authorized in accordance with Ohio law, agency policy, and approved training methods.
• Utilizing verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques to reduce risk and support stabilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in crisis intervention

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, or assist in moving up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance
• Must be able to physically participate in approved crisis intervention and safety procedures, including physical escorts, therapeutic holds, and restraint interventions
