The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working with preschoolers. Monday through Friday position, approximately 20 hours a week. Up to 35-42 weeks a year, depending on the classroom. Qualifications At least 18 years old Have a high school diploma or GED Annually maintain current CPR and first aid certification Maintains a positive working relationship with parents/guardians and staff Discretion with confidential information Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines Must be able to pass a criminal history and childcare background check Responsibilities Provide support to one/all of the following departments; Nursery, Preschool, Full Day Childcare Assist in the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises in compliance with the curriculum for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom goals and objectives Follow the directions of supervising teacher Assist students individually or in small groups Assist in the supervision of students during daily instructional activities Assist in managing student discipline through the use of positive reinforcement strategies Respect the confidentiality of the teacher, students, and parents Maintain a working knowledge of school routines, emergency procedures, and school discipline policy Perform other related duties as assigned NONDISCRIMINATION: It is the policy of the Utica Community Schools that no person on the basis of race, color,religion, national origin or ancestry, age, sex, marital status or handicap shall be discriminated against, excludedfrom participation in, denied the benefits of or otherwise be subjected to discrimination by this educationalagency.
