The role offers substantial exposure to sophisticated litigation and the opportunity to take increasing ownership of matters while working alongside experienced attorneys and Partners. What You'll Do Independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations and trial-related activities Defend matters involving: General liability Trucking NYS Labor Law Develop case strategy and work closely with Partners on significant matters Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals and other stakeholders Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive legal correspondence Evaluate liability, damages and exposure and provide strategic recommendations Continue developing your litigation and substantive legal expertise What We're Looking For JD from an accredited law school Admitted to practice in New York 4+ years of litigation experience Experience handling insurance defense, general liability and/or premises liability matters Experience taking cases through mediation and/or trial Strong deposition, motion practice and courtroom experience Ability to independently manage a caseload and communicate effectively with clients Knowledge of NYS Labor Law §§ 200, 240 and 241 is a plus OSHA hearing experience is a plus Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 – $220,000 Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
