Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements:

• Registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as:
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), or
  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)
• Registered by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as:
  • RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), or
  • RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of employment required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification within 6 months of employment preferred

Ultrasound Technologist Key Responsibilities:

• Perform non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiovascular imaging exams.
• Assist cardiologists and other healthcare providers in interpreting ultrasound results to diagnose conditions like heart disease, valve disorders, and blood flow abnormalities.
• Ensure high-quality images are captured by adjusting equipment settings based on patient size and condition.
• Prepare and educate patients before procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
