Automotive Service Manager

Busy new-car dealership in Western Massachusetts is looking for a proactive Automotive Service Manager to help take their service department to the next level. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Service Manager who is process-driven and consistently strives to better their department day in and day out. The department is not broken, but there is a ton of growth opportunity and increasing customer demand that is not being captured which is why the dealer is looking to make a change. It's important that the Service Manager hired brings the energy, sets the vision, and knows how to execute. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, process-driven leader with a true coaching mentality. This is not a role for someone who manages from the back office. The Service Manager hired will be visible throughout the department- working with advisors on the service drive, interacting with customers, supporting technicians in the shop, and leading by example every day. Likewise, it's important that this person knows how to recruit and retain talent for long-term success. The position will report directly to the General Manager who is supportive of growing the business. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations and performance of the dealership's service department Coach, train, and develop service advisors to improve sales, processes, and customer service Maintain an active presence on the service drive and regularly interact with customers Work closely with technicians to support productivity, workflow, and accountability Identify missed opportunities and implement processes to increase service revenue and profitability Recruit and retain qualified technicians and other service personnel Ensure technicians complete required training and continue earning manufacturer certifications Establish clear expectations and hold the team accountable to consistent standards Bring energy, motivation, and urgency to the department each day Balance long-term growth initiatives with the department's day-to-day operational needs Qualifications Proven experience as a Service Manager at a new-car dealership Proactive, hands-on leadership style Strong coaching, training, and employee-development skills Process-driven with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement Successful track record of recruiting and retaining dealership talent Strong customer-service and communication skills Ability to identify opportunities and follow through with effective execution Compensation Competitive compensation package with earnings in the $150,000 - $200,000+ range based on performance. 5 day work week 2 weeks PTO to start #J-18808-Ljbffr Automotive Search Group
