About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Newborn care License: Compact license required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and circulating in the OR - Proficiency in starting adult IVs and administering blood and blood products - Familiarity with drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps - Knowledge of insulin and magnesium sulfate administration Description: Local candidates are welcome to apply. Previous permanent employees must be separated from any affiliated facility for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for this position. Floating between facilities may be required as needed. Daily responsibilities include supporting patients through labor and delivery, postpartum care, OB triage, and management of normal newborns. Special procedures include but are not limited to vaginal and cesarean deliveries, as well as circulating in the OR. Key skills include patient diagnoses in labor and delivery/postpartum, performing sterile vaginal exams, and triaging obstetrical patients. Providers will be expected to adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate effective pain assessment and management. Daily patient care will be provided in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. Traveler's refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Communication devices may be provided for performing job duties as assigned.
