The Opportunity Center- Easter Seals is seeking passionate Floor Technician to join our growing team at the Anniston Army Depot! This is a great opportunity for those who are new to janitorial work as training is provided.

Team members perform a variety of cleaning tasks with on-site Supervisor support. We are an inclusive and supportive group that takes pride in our work!

The Floor Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will remove spots from carpets, perform bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning and dispose of trash. You will operate floor scrubbers, burnishers, canister vacuum cleaners, shop vacuums and pressure washers. You will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. To be successful in this role you will protect workers and visitors by keeping floors free from harmful microorganisms, and by being mindful of slip, trip and fall hazards. Preferred candidates are motivated, meticulous, and able to work with numerous interruptions. Floor Tech Responsibilities:

Location : Anniston Army Depot, Alabama

Schedule : M-F 6:30am-2:30pm, M-Th 6:30am-3:30pm

Wage: $14.25/hr. 

Additional Compensation : Benefits covered 100%

PRIMARY PURPOSE:   The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area(s)
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”
• Ability to work without normal supervision
• Report safety hazards as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires a moderate level of communication skills related to training line workers, as well as relating positively to workers.  A high school diploma (or GED) is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is for the most part performed in an indoor climate of average daily seasonal temperatures. Outside work is subject to varying seasonal temperatures. Employees may be exposed to odors, chemicals, product spills, dust, loosened wax or water.
