Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Fleet Manager in the San Jose area to lead a commercial vehicle fleet of about 500 units supporting service, construction, and material operations across the Bay Area for a mechanical contractor.
Impact
- Lower total cost of ownership and maximize vehicle uptime.
- Keep field teams moving so service never stops.
- Protect drivers through a culture of safety and rigorous maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the fleet: assignments, inventory, and status tracking.
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets for replacement and maintenance.
- Own the vehicle lifecycle from acquisition and upfitting to disposal.
- Manage vendor and service relationships.
Must-Haves
- Hands-on leadership of a large commercial fleet.
- Budgeting and lifecycle management experience.
- Strong vendor negotiation.
Nice-to-Haves
- Telematics program experience.
- Background in a service or construction contractor.
Compensation and Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits. Onsite in the San Jose area.
