Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Travel: Approximately 50% (typically alternating one week onsite and one week remote)

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work on a W2 basis. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Position Summary

\n

We are seeking an experienced Avaya Aura Security & Vulnerability Specialist to support the security, compliance, and operational integrity of enterprise Avaya environments. This consultant will be responsible for identifying security risks, implementing remediation strategies, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring the overall security posture of critical voice and communications infrastructure.

This role requires strong expertise within the Avaya Aura ecosystem , including hands-on experience with vulnerability management, security hardening, patch deployment, compliance initiatives, and security assessments.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability reviews across Avaya Aura platforms.
\n
• Analyze vulnerability scan results and develop remediation plans to address identified risks.
\n
• Implement and validate security hardening configurations and compliance controls.
\n
• Apply and maintain STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) requirements.
\n
• Test, coordinate, and deploy Avaya security patches, updates, and service packs.
\n
• Monitor and investigate security vulnerabilities affecting Avaya infrastructure.
\n
• Support remediation activities and verify successful resolution of security findings.
\n
• Document security risks, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
\n
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, and unified communications teams to resolve security issues.
\n
• Participate in onsite assessments, security reviews, and compliance initiatives.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Hands-on experience supporting and securing Avaya Aura environments .
\n
• Strong knowledge of Avaya Aura Communication Manager and related Aura applications.
\n
• Experience with vulnerability assessment, remediation, and risk management.
\n
• Expertise implementing security hardening standards and best practices.
\n
• Experience interpreting vulnerability scan reports and performing scan analysis.
\n
• Knowledge of STIG compliance requirements and security remediation processes.
\n
• Experience managing security patching and system updates within enterprise environments.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
\n
• Ability to travel up to 50% as required.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• CompTIA Security+ or similar cybersecurity certification.
\n
• Experience supporting government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
\n
• Familiarity with DISA security standards and compliance frameworks.
\n
• Knowledge of enterprise vulnerability management and security scanning tools.
\n
• Previous experience supporting audits, accreditation efforts, or formal compliance programs.
