Employee Type Full Time Non-Exempt Job Posting Job Title: Warehouse Assistant Department: Warehouse Reports To: Warehouse Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Shifts: 1 st Shift/9AM-5PM Wage Range: $ 20-2 5 / hr Job Summary : A Warehouse Assistant is responsible for support ing warehouse and distribution operations by assisting with material handling, shipping, receiving, inventory activities, and general warehouse functions. This role is cross-trained to provide backup coverage for various Mailing Distribution Specialist positions and assists Team Leads with daily operational tasks to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Provide backup support for Distribution Specialist functions, including shipping, receiving, package preparation, labeling, manifests, and documentation. Assist Team Leads with daily warehouse activities and special projects. Receive, move, stage, store, and distribute materials throughout the facility. Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and inventory accuracy. Prepare materials, packages, and shipments for internal and external customers. Read and follow job tickets, shipping documents, manifests, and work instructions. Operate warehouse equipment and material handling devices as trained and authorized. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support cross-functional teams to meet production, shipping, and customer deadlines. Assist with training and process improvements as requested. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Support 6S initiatives as required . Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required . Other duties as assigned by manager . Skills Abilities Required: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to learn multiple warehouse and shipping functions. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and organizational skills . Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, production, distribution, mailing or manufacturing experience preferred. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred . On-the-job training provided . The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 70lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines. Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces.
