It also involves keeping complete and accurate records of repairs and promoting safety and a positive work environment with little to no supervision. Responsibilities Test and troubleshoot all types of machinery/equipment accurately to find malfunctions. Diagnose and repair computer‑controlled systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspensions, drivetrain components, differentials, transfer cases, transmissions, gasoline- and diesel‑powered engines, fuel systems, and pneumatic & hydraulic systems on vehicles and light equipment. Read and understand repair manuals, electrical, and hydraulic schematics. Repair and install tire chains on equipment. Fabricate, repair, modify and assemble parts as needed. Qualifications Completed a vocational program in a related field. Successfully completed a written and practical exam. Have or be able to obtain and maintain a CDL license. 2‑5 years of related experience in this field. Exceptional mechanical ability and aptitude. Self‑motivated with a sense of urgency. Ability to perform essential and secondary functions of this job. Problem‑solving, communication, and manual dexterity skills. Judgment in heavy equipment repairs to high standards.
