Upper School (5th-12th) Substitute Teacher (Pool)
Location: Houston, TX
School: Westbury Christian School
Salary: $100 per day subbing

Job Summary:

Westbury Christian School is seeking passionate and dedicated Christian professionals to serve as substitute teachers on a part-time, interim basis throughout the school year. Substitute teachers are responsible for providing meaningful and effective instruction in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring continuity in the students' educational experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure the students remain engaged and on track.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Provide meaningful instruction that aligns with the curriculum and the school's educational standards.
• Assist students with assignments and ensure they are on task.
• Communicate any issues or concerns with school leadership as needed.
• Uphold the mission and values of Westbury Christian School while interacting with students and faculty.
• Follow the school's safety and security protocols and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must have at least 60 college credit hours from a recognized educational institution.
• Affirm with full agreement of Westbury Christian School's Statement of Faith and Biblical Principles, which can be found
• A strong commitment to Christian values and integration of faith in the classroom.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
• Previous experience in education or working with children is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirement:

• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to move around classroom, navigating student desks and materials
• Ability to bend, stoop, and sit on floor, depending on age of children in class
• Ability to communicate clearly and audibly, including speaking and hearing
• Manual dexterity to use office equipment, manipulate books and other learning materials, and assist students with various activities
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
