Receptionist - Imaging Administration (Radiology Department)The Radiology Receptionist provides administrative and clerical support for the Radiology Department. This position is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, registration support, telephone communications, physician office interactions, medical record management, and other clerical functions necessary to ensure efficient departmental operations and exceptional patient service.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Reception and Customer ServiceGreet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.Respond to patient questions and concerns within scope of responsibility.Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.Facilitate communication between patients, radiology staff, physicians, and other departments.Medical Records and DocumentationEnter and maintain accurate patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).Scan, file, and retrieve medical records and imaging-related documentation.Process imaging requests and release of information requests according to organizational policies.Monitor work queues and ensure timely completion of clerical tasks.Communication and CoordinationCommunicate with physician offices regarding orders, scheduling issues, and missing documentation.Coordinate patient flow with technologists, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare personnel.Notify appropriate staff of urgent scheduling changes or patient concerns.Departmental SupportMaintain office supplies and forms.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of medical terminology preferred.Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling systems preferred.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Frequent interaction with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare staff.May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, or call schedules based on departmental needs.Performance ExpectationsMaintains professionalism and customer service excellence.Supports efficient departmental workflow.Maintains confidentiality and regulatory compliance.Promotes a positive patient experience and team-oriented work environment.Work Schedule: PRN (As Needed). Work hours are between 7:00am - 3:00pm.Qualifications /Training:ExperienceOne (1) year of clerical, medical office, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.Experience in a healthcare or radiology setting preferred.Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
