With support from our staff, Board, and broader Team BGCP community, we strive to make our community a great place for all kids to grow up.POSITION OVERVIEW As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting our students from their school in South San Francisco to our Orange Park Clubhouse and to their homes during the school year. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide transportation to BGCP students during the school yearMaintain vehicle logsPerform routine vehicle safety checksMaintain cleanliness and readiness of vansManage and uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-upHave familiarity with roads and be responsible for knowing travel routes and destinationsBe responsible, in case of emergency, for van repairs to manage details of roadside assistance and/or towingProvide transportation for mealsUphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-upPerform additional relevant duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSAt least 21 years oldCurrent and valid California Drivers' license (standard class C--no special license required)Clean driving recordProof of personal auto insuranceFamiliarity with mechanical operations of automobiles a plusAbility to work independently and to adapt to changes in a work environmentHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience with driving high school students a plusPassion for our mission and the kids we serveLOCATIONSouth San Francisco*Transporting students from schools in South San Francisco to Orange Park Clubhouse (Temporary location: 840 W Orange Avenue South San Francisco, CA 94080)IMPORTANT ONBOARDING & TRAINING DATES: Onboarding Training (Required for All New Hires): Date: Attend one full-day session on September 22nd, 29th, October 6th, 13th Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Location: 401 Pierce Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025 Mandatory Driving Class (Required for Van Driver New Hires): Date: Attend one full-day session (Dates TBD - but typically Saturdays)WORK SCHEDULEMonday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday: 2 pm - 4 pmWednesdays: 1 pm - 3pm(10 hours/week)*Employment for June and July is not guaranteed, as the position aligns with the school calendar.COMPENSATIONEmployment Status: Part-Time, HourlyPay Range: $29.00 per hourContributing to a thriving community for youth growth: Beyond measureAs part of the hiring process, BGCP requires candidates to complete a LiveScan fingerprinting, background check, and tuberculosis (TB) test.BGCP is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
