The Commodity Procurement Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing material ordering to support production based on customer demand within our rapidly growing eBOS division. This role balances supply and demand maintains appropriate inventory levels, and partners cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing cost and risk.

Commodity Procurement Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Material Purchasing, Open Order management & Inventory analysis
• Develop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules and demand forecasts
• Monitor inventory levels and material delivery schedules to mitigate any inventory shortages leading to potential halts in production
• Identify risks related to supply availability and proactively develop mitigation plans
• Track and report key supply chain metrics, including on time deliveries, damage/defective rates, cost savings
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory tracking accuracy, cost controls, and waste reduction
• Maintain Vendor Relationships
• Assist with vendor management activities, including setting up new vendors, placing purchase orders, and maintaining vendor records
• Review and approve invoices for payment in accordance with company policies
• Track incoming shipments via open order reports and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on damaged, missing, or incorrect materials requiring return or replacement
• Support strategic sourcing efforts by helping define sourcing processes and supplier connections
• Production & Cross-Functional Support
• Assist the production team with sourcing and ordering tools, shop supplies, and floor stock material
• Partner with production and receiving teams to resolve material issues and maintain smooth material flow
• Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance to address supply constraints and operational needs

Commodity Procurement Coordinator Skills & Requirements:

• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite Experience is Preferred.
• Material Requirement Planning and Forecasting
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Outlook
• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills
• Able to collaborate with others and work in a team setting
• Logistics and Freight Booking Including Air and Sea
• Importing Experience
• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Salary: $68,000 - $72,000 yearly salary
