Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• A bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
• Strong mathematical fluency, including comfort with statistics, linear algebra, optimization, and probability
• Advanced Python proficiency, with R and/or C/C++ considered an advantage
• Hands-on experience with numerical and data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or comparable tools
• Experience building or supporting machine learning systems in distributed computing environments
• Proficiency working in Linux, with a focus on performance, correctness, and reproducibility
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when handling imperfect or mixed-quality data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers outside software engineering
• Preferred: experience with experiment tracking, model evaluation workflows, or ML orchestration
• Preferred: familiarity with modern ML/AI infrastructure patterns such as model serving, feature stores, and distributed training
• Preferred: experience optimizing numerical or modeling code for performance
• Preferred: prior exposure to financial data, time-series analysis, or quantitative research settings

• Work closely with PhD researchers to design, implement, and operationalize machine learning models that support quantitative trading strategies
• Build and maintain complex data pipelines, including ingestion, feature engineering, validation, and data quality monitoring
• Convert research prototypes and new ideas into efficient, thoroughly tested, production-ready code
• Create extensible tools and frameworks that speed up model development and experimentation
• Investigate, monitor, and resolve subtle data quality problems across research and production settings
• Independently lead projects from requirements through delivery, making sound decisions on scope, dependencies, and trade-offs with long-term maintainability in mind
• Support deployment efforts and mentor junior engineers and researchers while aligning ownership, execution, and prioritization across stakeholders
• Promote engineering consistency, standards, and best practices within our Research organization
