Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in a high-volume maternity setting, ensuring patient safety and comfort through clinical review, monitoring, and intervention. Facilitate delivery processes, monitor fetal well-being, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct clinical reviews and assessments for labor and delivery patients, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Monitor fetal heart rates, contractions, and maternal vital signs to identify any complications.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and safety standards.
• Assist during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures, providing support to patients and staff.
• Cross-train to Mother/Baby and float to NICU as needed, maintaining clinical flexibility.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records and communicate updates effectively.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license, with pending licenses accepted; license must be in hand prior to start.
• Demonstrate experience in labor and delivery nursing, including fetal monitoring and obstetric interventions.
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications.
• Possess knowledge of OB procedures, maternal-fetal medicine, and low/high-risk pregnancy management.
• Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt to float requirements and work within facility policies.
