Neurodiagnostic Technologist

Job Overview Neurodiagnostic Technologist: Independently performs electroneurodiagnostic procedures—including electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials (EP)—in accordance with technical standards set by the ASET, The Neurodiagnostic Society, and other regulatory bodies. Analyzes data, performs technical interpretation, and presents findings to physicians and neurophysiologists. Participates in clinical investigations, research activities, continuous improvement, and mentors other technologists. Schedule & Location Schedule: 4–10 hour shifts Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 07:00‑17:30 Weekly Hours: 40 (FTE 1.0) Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah, Wisconsin Key Responsibilities Perform tests and clinical interventions in EEG, EMG, and EP in a 24‑hour hospital setting. Assist physicians in diagnosing diseases and disorders of the brain and central/peripheral nervous system through neurodiagnostic testing. Recognize artifact, document findings, and take appropriate measures to mitigate artifacts. Manage day‑to‑day functions such as reviewing schedules, billing services, and providing phone coverage. Explain testing procedures to patients, answer questions, and reassure as needed. Record and report patient concerns, symptoms, and reactions promptly and accurately. Maintain and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic machines and equipment. Provide instruction and hands‑on technical training to neurodiagnostic technologists and students. Ensure proper document flow and storage per departmental guidelines. Continue hands‑on IONM education if advancing to Neurodiagnostic Technologist II. Qualifications Associate’s degree in electroneurodiagnostic technology (AAS) from a CAAHEP accredited program. 300 clinical hours of work experience within the neurodiagnostic field. Registered in EEG (R. EEG.T) within one year of employment. Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R.E.P.T) within three years of employment or upon becoming a Neurodiagnostic Technologist. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification. Physical Demands Ability to move freely, including standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling.
