Lee Health is seeking a Physician Advisor Quality Documentation!

Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 18,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,300 employed primary care and specialty care providers with multiple practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one specialty hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds.

Position Information:

The Physician Advisor Quality Documentation (PA QD) is responsible for collaborating with and advising the Quality Documentation and Health Information Management Departments, medical staff, and others within the health system on matters regarding clinical documentation integrity of diagnoses involving adult populations; Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) compliance including rules and regulations; collaboration and relationships with payers; physician practice patterns and documentation. The PA QD is a key member of Lee Healths Utilization Review Committee which is charged with regulatory goals of ensuring high levels of healthcare quality and acceptable levels of cost.

They will work closely with each other, the Physician Advisor Golisano Childrens Hospital of Southwest Florida, the System Medical Director Physician Advisors (SMDPA), the Chief Nursing and Operations Executives, medical staff, medical residents and fellows of the individual hospitals, and other system leadership related to quality documentation and health information management.

The primary role of the PA QD is to serve as champion for optimization of all aspects of clinical documentation for all patients while ensuring the highest quality of care is provided. This includes working with the SMDPA and Lee Health system and hospital leadership to support and optimize documentation integrity and compliance. Is a subject matter expert and authoritative resource on interpretation and application of clinical practice and documentation strategies for the Quality Documentation team and medical staff.
