We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future and have fun along the way.Northrop Grumman is looking for a structural engineer who analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowable and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.Responsibilities for Engineer Structural 3:Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic materials for modifications to existing aircraftWorking within or leading an IPT, interfaces with IPT/Program leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to independently prepare and lead the preparation of engineering design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition PackagesCollaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, materials and processes, and other stakeholders to produce flight weight structuresEmploy GD&T and Model Based Engineering (MBE) methods to create airframe layouts and produce engineering definitionsAssist team to develop/document best practices and mentor less experienced engineersPreferred Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3:Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master of Science (MS) degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experienceExperience designing primary and secondary metallic aircraft parts/components, assemblies, and installationsYour ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the companyBasic Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3:Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringProficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling softwareProficiency with TeamcenterUnderstanding of GD&T and MBE methodsAbout PROLIMPROLIM is a leading provider of PLM, IoT and Digital transformation solutions to Global Fortune 1000 companies.
