Certified Medical Assistant MA - Phoenixville Family Medicine

Medical assistant (MA) is positioned within the workforce to gather, screen, communicate and act based on delegation from a provider, registered nurse or licensed practical nurse as per scope of practice. The MA performs a combination of clerical and direct patient care duties. Responsibilities Clerical duties: greeting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, updating patients' electronic medical record (EMR). Clinical duties: rooming patients, taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing exam room for procedures, explaining treatment procedures to patients, facilitating patient flow through the office, and assisting the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant during examinations. Qualifications Education: Complete and maintain all competencies and training required for the role. High School Diploma - or - GED - or - Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. No experience required. Certification: BLS Certification; current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP, or NHA. Other certifications require THMG Leadership Approval. Skills: Computer skills (use and navigation), excellent communication and interpersonal skills, general clerical skills. Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
