ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Sorting and rinsing dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine
- Sorting and stacking clean dishes; carrying clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas; rewashing soiled dishes before delivering
- Changing dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Washing pots, pans, and trays by hand
- Removing trash and garbage and bringing it to the dumpster
- Setting up and breaking-down dishwashing area
- Filling/emptying soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- Sweeping/mopping floors
- Assembling/disassembling dish machine
- Sweeping up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster
- Cleaning and rolling/unrolling mats
- Performing inventory of cleaning solutions on hand and reporting any low items to supervisor
- Performing general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed
- Wiping up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
- Notifying Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday availability.
- Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment + stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances, and lift heavy items for extended periods
- Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of who will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
- Ability to read English language sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage up to 50 lbs continuously throughout shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.
