Position Title: Buyer

Lumicor is seeking a smart and motivated, forward thinking problem solver to join our Procurement Team. The ideal candidate will work in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Agents to conduct the day-to-day purchasing activities for the company. The candidate will contribute to ensure on time delivery and manage inventory levels. This position requires the candidate to be able to exercise discretion and independent judgement. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Buyer include:

• Perform daily MRP reports, issue Purchase Orders and adjust reorder points and safety stock accordingly for raw materials and supplies
• Update item spreadsheets and item cards for forecasting, planning and informational archiving
• Process purchase requisitions and PO requests for other departments
• Order custom supplies, hardware, services, materials, etc. as required
• Communicate scheduled delivery times and/or delays with stakeholders
• Manage and monitor open Purchase Orders to ensure on time delivery and pricing accuracy
• Manage inventory (including inventory adjustments) and order office supplies and shop supplies
• Monitor emails and respond to requests in a timely manner
• Check raw material availability for multi-level assemblies using item BOM's
• Check raw material lead times with vendors and communicate information to stakeholders
• Manage and negotiate pricing for materials and supplies
• Prepare requests for quotation on raw materials and services
• Monitor Vendor quality and issuing Supplier Corrective Action Requests
• Assisting in researching new raw materials and services
• Assist Purchasing Manager with other duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies

• 1 year of Buying/Planning experience or College Graduate preferred
• Experience with Intuitive and MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to manage work flow in a rapidly changing environment

• Professional and courteous communication with vendors and other team members

• Outgoing and engaging personality is a plus

Compensation

• Salary range: $52,000 - $62,000
• Comprehensive benefits package

Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.80 per hour
