Working at our Vandalia Facilities: Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton—known widely as the birthplace of aviation—where the Wright Brothers built the world’s first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 25 acres right off Interstate 75. At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of military and commercial customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight. Role Overview: We’re looking for a candidate with electrical/mechanical aptitude to help us sustain a robust preventive maintenance program. This position is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed. Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment using Maximo software Repair all production equipment as needed Perform breakdown analysis Perform general housekeeping Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology Work with outside contractors working on assigned line Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards Work independently under limited supervision (self-management) Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed The Ideal Candidate: Possess the ability to work effectively with others and loves to add value to a likeminded team. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 3+ Years Industrial Mechanical/ Electrical Maintenance Experience to include: Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns, diagnostics, problem solving). Mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings). Drive Components, Belts, chains, Clutches & Brakes, etc. Pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs). Electricity & Electrical systems from - 480v 3 phase - 24v control This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining. Preferred Qualifications: Must adhere to all ISO Quality Standards Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc. Professional technical training or certificate program in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field. Pneumatics/air compression (solenoids, valves, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting). Preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data). Schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays). Product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs). Reading mechanical drawings (e.g., mechanical, electrical, hydraulics & pneumatics). Electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays). HVAC systems. Material fabrication and welding skills. Basic rigging knowledge Knowledge of SERVO (e.g., intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.). Must be ready to work in a collaborative team environment including non-maintenance personnel. Ability to communicate effectively with the team/management. Forklift and manlift experience. Additional Information: Pay starts at $25.53 per hour This position requires work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling. The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.
