Admissions Director

Job Summary

ALIYA Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Admissions to oversee the admissions and referral process at our skilled nursing facility. The Director of Admissions will be responsible for managing referrals, coordinating admissions, developing relationships with referral sources, conducting facility tours, and supporting census growth. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, a customer-focused approach, and experience working in a skilled nursing or healthcare environment.
Responsibilities

• Manage the daily referral and admission process.
• Receive, review, and process referrals from hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, and community referral sources.
• Coordinate clinical and financial reviews to determine admission eligibility.
• Verify insurance coverage, payer sources, and required documentation.
• Communicate with referral sources regarding referrals, admissions, and denials.
• Maintain accurate and timely referral and admission information in PointClickCare (PCC).
• Prepare admission paperwork, packets, notices, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Social Services, Business Office, and other departments to ensure smooth admissions.
• Communicate anticipated admissions, discharges, and readmissions with facility leadership.
• Conduct facility tours and provide prospective residents and families with information about the facility and available services.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, social workers, and other referral sources.
• Conduct outreach to hospitals and community referral sources to generate new admissions.
• Support census development and work toward achieving facility occupancy goals.
• Follow up with new residents and families to ensure a positive admission experience.
• Participate in daily meetings, census calls, marketing meetings, and other facility meetings.
• Maintain current marketing materials and ensure the admissions area is professional and tour-ready.
• Ensure the admission process is conducted in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare admissions, skilled nursing, long-term care, marketing, business development, or census development preferred.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of the skilled nursing admissions process, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance requirements.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with referral sources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional and positive demeanor.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email.
• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.
