Description:
A compact license is required.
Travelers must be prepared to float to various facilities as needed.
There is an additional compensation for floating within the designated region.
The ER features a trauma center with 21 beds and four trauma bays.
The unit has a separate triage area, and travelers may be allowed to perform triage duties after acclimating to the department.
The ER holds are intermixed within the ER.
Inpatient staff are occasionally floated to the ER to manage admitted patients when necessary.
The ER does not have separate psych/seclusion rooms.
In-house security is available in the ER.
On average, 109 patients are seen per day.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 4:1.
The patient population includes approximately 30% over the age of 60.
The ER is designated as a Trauma Level 4 facility and handles various critical conditions.
Charge nurses are present 24/7 with a house supervisor available during specific daytime hours on weekdays and all hours on weekends.
Support staff includes sitters, CNAs, and ER Techs, with RNs sometimes serving as sitters.
The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.
Respiratory Therapy manages CPAP/BiPAP and ABGs, with RNs and ER Techs performing breathing treatments and ECGs.
Telemetry is available in the ER, and RNs are expected to interpret cardiac rhythms.
CT and X-ray services are located adjacent to the ER, and direct transports may occur when needed.
Nurse draws are expected, although lab services are available for some blood draws.
The position requires weekend work every other week and holiday shifts.
There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
The dress code for RNs includes navy blue scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation will be provided as part of the onboarding process.
The cancellation policy allows for a limited number of cancellations per contract, with the possibility of compensation for certain shifts.
