Leveraging innovative solutions and technologies, we serve customers all over the world.About The PositionThe Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.Key deliverables include:Respond quickly in the event of an emergency repair.Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.Repair broken or leaking plumbing.Maintain the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.Perform maintenance of electrical systems.Key activities and responsibilities include:Install and maintain production machines and the plant/facility's equipmentProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during productionConduct scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine servicePerform simple machinist duties and responsibilitiesUtilize mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machinesExecute regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilitiesRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete required maintenance and serviceDiagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjustPerform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functionsOperate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing dutiesDetect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisionAssemble, disassemble, and rebuild customer equipment.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasAchieve quality results as it relates to the Company's vision and missionPromote and educate others on Astec's core valuesFollow company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all timesTo be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVACEthical conduct is essential.Demonstrated ability and initiative to achieve results is required.Must work well independently and with others for the purpose of achieving mutual goals.Technical capability and problem-solving skills are critical.Must be able to communicate effectively across departments to meet the needs of internal customers.Our culture and values include:Continuous devotion to meeting the needs of our customersHonesty and integrity in all aspects of businessRespect for all individualsPreserving entrepreneurial spirit and innovationSafety, quality and productivity as means to ensure successWork environment:Manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock.
