Job Description

This entry-level Yard Technician role offers a hands-on opportunity to learn the processes and trades involved in mobile trailers. You will support day-to-day yard and shop operations by moving materials and equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with building and installing furniture. This position serves as a foundation for growth into a Set Up Technician role and is ideal for someone with a construction background who enjoys working outdoors, using tools, and taking on a wide variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and equipment around the storage yard and within the shop in a safe and efficient manner.

• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials and equipment are properly secured and handled with care.

• Stage materials for upcoming projects to support efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

• Assist with building, assembling, and installing furniture and related components for mobile trailers.

• Operate hand and power tools to complete general construction and carpentry-related tasks.

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while moving materials and equipment around the yard area.

• Support the setup and preparation of mobile trailers as part of the learning path toward a Set Up Technician role.

• Use basic computer skills to complete simple tasks such as checking assignments, documenting work, or accessing instructions as needed.

• Follow safety procedures and company guidelines while performing all yard, shop, and equipment-related duties.

• Demonstrate a flexible, “do it all” attitude by assisting with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated carpentry skills with the ability to perform basic construction and repair tasks.

• Familiarity with construction trades and general construction practices.

• Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and materials in a yard and shop setting.

• Current valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Basic computer knowledge to perform simple digital tasks as required.

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Strong work ethic and a proactive, hands-on approach to general labor tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HVAC technician skills are a plus and may support future growth opportunities.

• Previous experience in a general labor, yard, or construction role is beneficial.

• Ability to learn and grow into a Set Up Technician position over time.

• Comfort working with furniture assembly and installation.

• Positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take on diverse tasks and responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position is based out of a branch yard with a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays during peak season. You will spend much of your time working outdoors in the storage yard, exposed to the elements, moving materials and equipment and supporting yard operations. The role involves regular use of hand and power tools, as well as general construction and carpentry activities. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, requiring practical work attire suitable for outdoor labor and safe tool use.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loganville, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
