Summary

You will serve as a Technician in the Antenna Systems Sustainment Section (LXLRL), Radar Systems Sustainment Branch (LXLR),Radar Technologies Division (LXL) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The NT-05 pay band is equal to the GS-13/14.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).

Duties

• You will be responsible for identifying and allocating resources/manpower required to complete all tasking associated with the radar systems
  that fall within the Radar Restoration project to above deck antenna systems.
• You will assist in the operations of a depot repair facility at NSWC Crane which will include but not limited to system installation, system troubleshooting, Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) fault isolation and component level repair of the LRUs.
• You will work with multiple Branch Managers and the Task Manager responsible for the Radar Restoration program tasking to ensure the workload and schedules can be completed by the requested due dates given the resources and manpower available.
• You will provide oversight for the contractors and government technicians assigned to the Radar Restoration programs and provide feedback to the Antenna System Sustainment Section Manager.
• You will be responsible for providing support to the project's kitting contract, ensuring BoMs are up to date, material inventory levels stay at or above minimum thresholds, material distribution, and development of cost and resourcing estimates.
• You will be responsible for assigning new personnel to work with experienced technicians to provide them with On The Job Training which will lead to their ability to troubleshoot, repair antenna systems and sub-systems.
• You will provide oversight of all the depot shop employees assigned to the Radar Restoration project to ensure they are using and following all applicable work procedures.
• You will be responsible for providing direct support to the In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the antenna systems and support the deployed US Navy ships as required.
• You will exercise a wide range of decision making authority and will be accountable for planning, executing, coordinating, reviewing and administering project/program oversight.
• You will act as a role model and technical leader for all subordinates and reinforce ethical behavior while demonstrating a strong work ethic.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering oversight on troubleshooting, repair, testing, calibration, and overhaul of complex radar systems and associated components to diagnose faults and restore equipment to required operating standards for sustaining radar system readiness and mission capability.
